Microsoft Teams is really a platform that's continuously evolving, and something of the very most notable inclusions in its feature arsenal is support for native notifications on macOS.
While you probably have no doubt about if you've used Microsoft Teams in the last months, the desktop clients come with their particular notification systems to let you know when someone supplies you with a text or a colleague calls you.
But several months ago, Microsoft started working on adding native notification support for Microsoft Teams both in Windows and macOS, using the company's operating system getting this feature only a few months ago.
Quite simply, Microsoft Teams now uses the famous toast notifications in Windows, and to be honest, everything looks excellent in Windows 11.
And starting last week, Microsoft Teams also supports native notifications on macOS, as the company finally completed the job about this feature on Apple's operating system.
Microsoft says users need to be running a minimum of macOS 10.15 to get the native notifications in Teams.
The benefits of native notifications
There are many benefits that this update brings, as well as on Windows for example, notifications can now align with the other rules configured on the device and working under Focus Assist.
So for example, if you restrict notification access while running full-screen apps or between certain hours, Microsoft Teams won't interrupt your work and skip these rules, therefore aligning with the rest of modern apps using toast notifications.
If you wish to enable native notifications in Microsoft Teams on macOS, just check out Settings after which expand the Notifications section.
Head over to Appearance and sound and look for Notification style. Automatically, Microsoft Teams ought to be configured to use the Teams built-in option, so click the drop-down menu and change to Mac to enable the new feature.
