This month's Patch Tuesday cycle brings not only new updates for Windows devices out there, but also the terminal for Windows 10 version 20H2.

Quite simply, the cumulative updates released today are the last ones this specific Windows 10 version will get, on and on forward, devices still running it should be updated to a newer release to continue to be serviced with new patches and enhancements.

It goes without saying that sticking with Windows 10 version 20H2 isn't by any means a good idea, just like any security vulnerabilities that might be discovered will just remain unfixed.

Microsoft: Improve your device ASAP

Microsoft too recommends users to change to a newer version of Windows 10 as quickly as possible.

"Windows 10, version 20H2 reaches end of service today, May 10, 2022, for devices running the Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations editions. After May 10, 2022, these units will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the most recent security threats. To carry on receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating towards the new edition of Windows 10 or Windows 11. We'll continue to service the next editions: Enterprise, IoT Enterprise, Windows on Surface Hub, and Windows Server, version 20H2," the company says.

Updating the unit to some newer form of Windows 10 is easy, as with Microsoft telling users to stick using the EKB for the entire thing.

"To update to one of the newer versions of Windows 10, we recommend that you apply the appropriate Enablement Package KB (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating much easier and requires just one restart. To find the EKB for any specific OS, go to the Improvements section and click on or tap the OS name to grow the collapsible section," the organization explains.
