Microsoft has already shipped the initial build of Windows 11, therefore the testing program has started, yet nobody knows without a doubt when it's supposed to ended.
The organization says Windows 11 will be released later this season, but no further specifics have been provided. And yet, the organization may have dropped things that October may be the month when Windows 11 may go love the first devices, though once again, simply no confirmation continues to be provided.
But according to an inventory on Walmart determined by WL, Microsoft indeed plans to launch Windows 11 in October, because the store says this is the month once the upgrade to the new OS would become readily available for the devices it sells.
New Windows 10 feature update coming too
Other than that, Microsoft has remained as mysterious because it gets, with the software giant promising to ship the upgrade to eligible Windows 10 PCs later this year.
"We're also working with our retail partners to ensure Windows 10 PCs you buy today are ready for that upgrade to Windows 11. The disposable upgrade will begin to roll out to eligible Windows 10 PCs this holiday and continuing into 2022. And next week, we'll begin to share an early build of Windows 11 to the Windows Insider Program - this is a passionate community of Windows fans whose feedback is essential to us," Microsoft said in its original announcement.
The timing seems to make sense, as Microsoft typically ships new Windows feature updates in October or November. And as as it happens, despite the debut of Windows 11 in the fall of the year, Microsoft still intends to introduce the brand new Windows 10 version 21H2 too, though it'll be interesting to ascertain if the company sticks with a smaller service pack-like release or bring major new features to its current OS too.
