Microsoft has recently released Windows 10 October 2020 Update, or Windows 10 version 20H2, which particular update appears to be gaining ground quite fast, according to new data.
AdDuplex claims Windows 10 October 2020 Update has already been running on 8.8 percent from the Windows 10 devices available, that makes it the 3rd most-used form of the operating system currently out there.
Windows 10 May 2020 Update continues to be the leading version out there with a share of 37.6 %, as the runner-up is the November 2019 Update with 36.4 %.
The Windows Insider program can also be running well, with 0.3 percent of all devices currently on preview builds that are shipped included in the Dev, Beta, and Release Preview channels.
What's next for Windows 10?
With version 20H2 already live, Microsoft can now focus on what's next for Windows 10, and according to sources familiar with the company's plans, there'll be lots of surprises next year.
First of all, we should expect two feature updates, much like before, only that their release dates will be inverted.
Quite simply, the large update that typically lands in the spring is now likely to go live in the autumn, while the small service pack-like release due in October or November will launch in the first part of the year.
Therefore the next Windows 10 feature update coming to users in the spring will also be a small release using the concentrate on under the hood improvements and less on new features.
Microsoft is yet to verify this timing, however the dates certainly make sense, especially since the spring is anticipated also to bring us the new Windows 10X. At first, this OS version will just run on single-screen devices, with the company to then bring it to dual-screen models when this form factor is ready,
