Driven by customer feedback, we're introducing two important the latest features to provide with additional control over updates:

Pause Updates: We're making the Pause Updates feature simpler to find by surfacing the latest option correct the ??Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update' page. Just like before, when Pause is enabled, some updates, like Windows Defender definition updates, will continue to be installed. On top of that, Pause could very well be enabled for sometimes a pre-defined number of days or up until specific day (day selector is ready on Advanced options page).

Intelligent Active Hours: Setting your active hours will let Windows know really should avoid rebooting your device. However, can certainly some of our users have shifting productivity schedules and remembering to regulate Active hours is truly a challenge. Now, Windows can automatically adjust active hours to help you based on your device activity. Display brightness changes when seeing battery power

We've heard your feedback of a specific case whenever a display may become brighter when transitioning in a battery charger to solar battery. For 19H1, we're modifying the display brightness behavior to make sure this can not happen. If the first adjusts their display brightness, that brightness can be remembered for their preferred brightness if they are on battery or connected to a charger. This new behavior provides a more consistent and battery friendly experience. It won't affect battery saver mode settings; if a person has opted into lowering the screen brightness in battery saver mode, their display will still dim as soon as the battery is under the threshold selected.

Please use Feedback Hub to inform us if you agree! You can file the feedback plantar to category "Device and Drivers" and subcategory "Display and Graphics".
Narrator Improvements

Narrator Verbosity Improvements: We are now improving the amount information you hear while interacting in Windows and you'll see these changes filter in throughout future builds. In our current release you will discover a new Narrator Setting entitled "Hear advanced more knowledge about controls when navigating". If this feature is off you will not hear the advanced information previously spoken on controls. Added to that, Tooltips will not be read automatically. Use the Narrator Advanced Information command (Narrator + 0) to view a tooltip with a given item. In addition, you will notice that control button information will now begin to speak on a more consistent manner. Checkboxes and radio buttons is definitely the first controls utilizing this type of new behavior.

More consistent reading experience: Narrator text reading commands (previous/next for character/word/line/sentence/paragraph/page) is now able used to scan a complete window completely. It is no longer a possibility to get the "not on explorable text" error in support of when you get the boundary on the window luggage receive "no next/previous text." Also, the views choices now consistent a really wonderful within text content or dead. For example, everyone can use the views approach to search for a link anywhere contained in the active window.

Read by Sentence Braille support: A new read by sentence commands are actually available the braille display by pressing dots 2-3-4 or 2-3-4-7 in command input mode. Note, we are all still working on fixing a married couple issues.

Narrator character phonetic reading optimization: Inside the previous release, Narrator received support with characters phonetically. That may be, reading out "a Alfa, b Bravo, c Charlie" while navigating "abc" by character.

Improved, we have received feedback merely didn't want to hear the phonetic information announced automatically. Instead, this needs to be an on-demand feature, grow to be called upon once you needed it. In this type of release, let's no longer announce the phonetic information automatically. Just like you navigate by characters, in the following paragraphs be omitted. Should you need the phonetic information to disambiguate characters, you are able to issue a command to hear the phonetics. Use a keyboard command of Narrator key + Comma twice quickly. If, as one example, you are using the Standard Keyboard layout with all the default Narrator key setting of "Caps Lock or Insert", almost certainly issue the command of Caps Lock + Comma (or Insert + Comma), in which Comma key is pressed twice quickly while depressing the Caps Lock (or Insert) key.

Region hear phonetics to acquire a string of characters with a sustained fashion, the phonetics should be read out continuously like you move forward or backward on a range of characters when using the Read Next Character command (Narrator key + Period) or Read Previous Character command (Narrator key + M). However, in this particular mode, you'll simply hear the phonetics announced as opposed to the characters themselves (e.g., "Alfa Bravo Charlie"). Prevent hearing the phonetics, press just about any other command (e.g., Left arrow, Right Arrow, Tab, etc.) or re-issue the Read Current Character command (Narrator key + Comma). Subsequent reading of next and previous characters via Narrator key + Period or Narrator key + M will go back reading exactly characters, without phonetic information.

If you prefer the original character phonetic reading behavior, a setting has been added that you toggle on the automatic reading of phonetics.
